DEADLINE FOR ERASMUS-MARHABA SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS EXTENDED TO 31 / 1 / 2015

University of Sulaimani is pleased to announce that the 1st call for applications under the MARHABA Scholarship Program is now open.


Applicants have until 31 January 2015 to complete and close their MARHABA applications at this website:

Deadline for Application submission Extended to 31/1/ 2015


In order to apply for a grant, you must take the following steps:
  1. Read the “Call for applications guidelines” very carefully.
  2. Check that you comply with the General Admission Requirements.
  3. Log into the On-line application form and fill this form with the information required.
  4. Choose a maximum of 2 host universities.
  5. Look over the academic offer of the host universities in order to search the specific study program you want to do.
  6. Attach the required documents. Remember that documents must be in English.
  7. Once you have filled the form and attached the required documents, please, SAVE your application in order to close it. Only saved and closed applications will be taken into account.
 
GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

In order to apply for a grant within the framework ofMARHABA project, candidates 
must comply with thefollowing general requirements:
 
They must have the nationality of one European or eligiblenon-EU country.
They must have sufficient knowledge of the language of instruction of the host universities they apply to. Onlyofficial certificates  will be accepted as proof ofknowledge.
Concerning non-EU candidates: grants cannot be awarded to those candidates who have lived and carried out their main activities (studies, work etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in a European country. This rule is not applicable to Target Group 3 and to Staff candidates.
 
Target Group 1 (TG1): 
Nationals of the countries concerned by the lot who are registered in one of the partner universities belonging to the consortium (seethe section of 
“Our consortium” in the webpage) 
 

MARHABA includes 5 types of mobility according to the academic level of the candidates:
 
  1. Undergraduate
  2. Master
  3. Doctorate (PhD)
  4. Post-doctorate
  5. Academic/Administrative staff
 
Taking into account the above mentioned levels, candidates must meet the following specific requirements:
  1. Undergraduate candidates: they must have successfully completed at least one year of studies.
  2. Master candidates: they must have obtained a Bachelor diploma.
  3. PhD candidates: they must have obtained a Master diploma.
  4. PhD and Post-doctorate candidates: should contact their respective potential
supervisors at the hosting institution before applying in order to get a
preadmission letter. In several host institutions pre-admission/acceptance from a
supervisor will be the main/priority condition for eligibility of the doctoral and
post-doctoral candidates.

      5. Academic/Administrative Staff: both academic and administrative staff
should contact their respective counterpart at the host university in order to
accordingly draw up their teaching/work plan.
 

GRANT AMOUNTS:

MARHABA will cover travel and insurance costs of the beneficiaries and monthly
allowances whose amount will vary depending on their academic level:
€1,000 for Undergraduate and Master
€1,500 for Doctorate
€1,800 for Post-doctorate
€2,500 for Academic/Administrative Staff
 

MOBILITY DURATIONS:

Undergraduate: 6 and 10 months
Master: 18 months
Doctorate: 6 and 34 months
Post-doctorate: 6 months
Academic/Adm. Staff: 1 month
 
All candidates have to apply online through the MARHABA online application tool
(http://www.usc.es/MARHABA/application), uploading the required supporting documents. Originals of the attached supporting documents may be requested to preselected TG1 candidates for examination by University of Sulaimani.
 
All candidates may apply for a maximum of two host universities.

Candidates must attach to their application the following supporting documents according to their academic level:
 
Candidates applying for BACHELOR:
  1. Passport copy.
  2. Curriculum Vitae (European CV – Europass - ).
  3. Language certificate(s)
  4. Motivation Letter (maximum 2 pages)
  5. Bachelor Transcript of Records
  6. Exact name of the study programme you plan to do in the host university (Please, check the host university academic offer you apply for in order to include this information in the online application tool. Any application without this information will be automatically excluded).
 
Candidates applying for MASTER:
  1. Passport copy.
  2. Curriculum Vitae (European CV – Europass - ).
  3. Language certificate(s)
  4. Motivation Letter (maximum 2 pages)
  5. Bachelor Certificate (if the grantee does not have this certificate at the moment of submitting the application, he/she should submit a letter signed by the home university stating that he/she is currently enrolled and he/she will get the diploma by 1st July 2015).
  6. Bachelor Transcript of Records
  7. Master Transcript of Records (if applicable)
  8. Exact name of the study programme you plan to do in the host university
(Please, check the host university academic offer you apply for in order to
include this information in the online application tool. Any application without
this information will be automatically excluded).
 

Candidates applying for DOCTORATE (PhD):
  1. Passport copy.
  2. Curriculum Vitae (European CV – Europass - ).
  3. Language certificate(s)
  4. Motivation Letter (maximum 2 pages)
  5. Bachelor Certificate
  6. Bachelor Transcript of Records
  7. Master Certificate (if the grantee does not have this certificate at the moment of submitting the application, he/she should submit a letter signed by the home university stating that he/she is currently enrolled and he/she will get the diploma by 1st July 2015).
  8. Master Transcript of Records
  9. Research proposal: title and short description (maximum 2 pages)
  10. A pre-admission letter by the host university (compulsory). Please, upload it in section “Other documents”.
 
Candidates applying for POSTDOCTORATE:
  1. Passport copy.
  2. Curriculum Vitae (European CV – Europass - ).
  3. Language certificate(s)
  4. Motivation Letter (maximum 2 pages)
  5. PhD Certificate
  6. Thesis Summary (maximum 2 pages)
  7. Research proposal: title and short description (maximum     2 pages)
  8. A pre-admission letter by the host university (compulsory). Please, upload it in section “Other documents”.
 
Candidates applying for ACADEMIC/ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF:
  1. Passport copy.
  2. Curriculum Vitae (European CV – Europass - ).
  3. Language certificate(s)
  4. Motivation Letter (maximum 2 pages)
  5. Teaching/Working plan
  6. A pre-admission letter (compulsory). Please, upload it in    section “Other documents”.

The Selection Committee will agree the final list of selected candidates on the basis of the ranking of pre-selected candidates. In case of candidates with the same mark as well as in order to meet the project principles, the following additional criteria can be applied by the Selection Committee:
  1. Gender balance
  2. Priority of disadvantaged and vulnerable groups
  3. Geographical balance
  4. Language skills
  5. Impact of the project proposal (applicable to Doctorate, Post-doc and Staff).
